Job Description;

To help maintain and grow this standard, we’re seeking an experienced Accountant to oversee the organization’s finances. As an ideal candidate, you’ll have a sharp business mind and proven success handling big sums of money preferably under donor funded projects. You’ll be highly skilled in, accounting and finance. Additionally, you’ll display a proven ability to develop and maintain an environment of trust, diversity, and inclusion within your team. Your ultimate responsibility is to increase our productivity as an organization.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Documentation and posting entries after necessary approvals, of various journal vouchers, credit notes, debit notes, coffee procurement documents, and other accounting documents as required for recording transactions.
  • Reconciling all bank accounts of the company on a routine basis.
  • Reconciling debtors & prepayments, creditors and accruals, fixed assets, and any other ledgers as may be required.
  • Generation and submission of statutory reports and files for VAT, PAYE, Withholding Tax, Income Tax, NSSF and other statutory documents for approval and subsequent submission to the relevant authorities
  • Ensuring that all accounting documents are properly filed, marked and stored, with access limited only to authorized persons
  • Any other duties as shall be assigned from time to time.

 

Candidate Specifications

  • Degree in accounting or equivalent qualification from a reputable institution
  • CPA or ACCA qualified or in the process of finalizing
  • Experience working in a similar role ideally for a multi-site or multinational organization.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel) and accounting software is a must, excellent communication skills, careful attention to detail, ability to identify key issues and solutions
  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to multi-task and work with others

To help maintain and grow this standard, we’re seeking an experienced Savings and Credit Unit Manager to oversee the running of the co-operative’s financial arm. As an ideal candidate, you’ll have a sharp business mind and proven success managing a financial institution. You’ll be highly skilled in rural credit, accounting and finance. Additionally, you’ll display a proven ability to develop and maintain an environment of trust, diversity, and inclusion within your team. Your ultimate responsibility is to increase our productivity as an organization.

 Main Duties and Responsibilities;

As a savings and credit unit manager, you’ll oversee the activities and operations and you’ll need to:

  • Supervise the day to day activities of the Savings and credit unit staff i.e. loans officer and Cashier
  • Participate in sourcing for funds to sustain the Savings and credit unit
  • Safe guard the assets of the Savings and credit unit including cash, securities (collateral) and any property entrusted to you
  • Make plans for increasing membership, share capital and loan portfolio.
  • Report on the progress of the unit at any time
  • Ensure recovery of loans and advances
  • Represent KCFCS in specific forums related to financial management of financial institutions
  • Liaise with the General manager and the accountant in promoting the products of the Savings and credit unit
  • Any other duties that may be assigned you by the General manager

 

Candidate Specifications

  • Degree or Diploma Business administration, commerce or any related field.
  • 3 years in recognized organizations
  • Strong budget development and oversight skills
  • Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining organizational control of branch operations and customer service
